The Beats of Pompeii (BOP) festival has returned for the third year. 20 shows have been announced as part of this year’s lineup ranging between the 24th of June and the 27th of July. The venue is like no other, the shows are held at the ancient roman amphitheatre inside the archaeological site of Pompeii. The very same location where the famous Live at Pompeii was record by Pink Floyd in 1972 and again, by David Gilmour, as a solo act in 2016.
The bill includes major national and international acts such as: Of Monsters and Men (24/06), BEAT with Steve Vai and Tony Levin (02/07), Riccardo Cocciante (04/07), Pat Metheny (06/07), Opeth (09/07), Coez (11/07), Vinicio Capossela (13/07), Tropico (16-17/07), Marcus Miller (22/07), Charlie Puth (24/07), Marillion (25-26/07) and Savatage, for an exclusive performance with a 27-piece orchestra (27/07).
For the first time this year, parts of the archaeological park will be open for night-time visits, guided tours and wine tasting events. Furthermore, the permanent exhibition dedicated to the 79 A.D volcanic eruption will be accessible.
