On Thursday, July 17th, 2026, idobi Radio brought the Summer School Tour to the House of Blues in Chicago! It was a night full of energy, crowd surfing, and the best up and coming acts in the pop punk/pop rock world.

Games We Play

Games We Play started their set with the song, “The End,” and spoke about how it was their first tour in over a year.

About mid-way through their set during the song “Girl Shaped Crater,” Emmyn handed a fan named Jordan a mic as a surprise and had the crowd open up a circle pit. To our surprise, Jordan proposed to his girlfriend and she said “YES!” It was a beautiful moment that I’m sure meant so much to Jordan and his now fiancé. After she said yes, Emmyn also joked that this was the best show of the tour and that he was going to officiate their wedding!

Ending their set with “I Hope You’re Happy” had the entire crowd singing along and was honestly the perfect way to end their set!

Winona Fighter

Winona Fighter was up next and the energy that burst out onto the stage was incredible. Starting out with “R U FAMOUS,” got everyone in the crowd jumping and ready for an incredible night.

Towards the beginning of the set, Coco took time to dedicate their set to her close, personal friend, Steve, who had passed away the day before. Although we could tell she was emotional due to her loss, Coco channeled that pain and grief into a beautiful set that we know Steve would be proud of.

The energy stayed high the entire time with each band member interacting with each other and the crowd. When they began performing “Bombs Away,” the entire crowd was singing along and crowd surfing. We were really putting those security guards to work!

Winona Fighter ended their set with “HAMMS IN GLASS,” and we were sad to see them go. Winona Fighter is one of our favorite punk rock bands and we cannot wait to see them on their next tour.

South Arcade

South Arcade was up next and opened their set with “HOW 2 GET AWAY WITH MURDER.” From the very first song they played, the entirety of House of Blues Chicago was rocking up and down from all the jumping. We had not experienced that amount of shaking before and we are shocked our photos even came out clear!

Chicago really loves South Arcade, which was shown throughout every single song, especially “2005,” which has been making the rounds on TikTok and a bunch of Spotify playlists.

Ending the night with “Stone Cold Summer,” South Arcade left us wanting even more. We’ll just have to wait until they tour again in Chicago because we will be front and center for another high energy performance from them.

Honey Revenge

Last, but not least, Honey Revenge took over the Summer School Tour stage! Playing a mix of old and new songs, Honey Revenge showed Houston why they were headlining this tour. Coming from just being an opener a few years ago to headlining the entire tour is something we are so proud of! Honey Revenge really deserves all the love for grinding so hard the past couple of years.

During “Habitual,” two members of Honey Revenge’s crew came out with a whiteboard and Chicago’s task for the night was to get as many crowd surfers over the barrier as possible before the song ended. We didn’t get to see the final tally, but Devin did say that Chicago got an A!

Towards the end of the set, Devin brought a fan named Sam up to help sing “Impressed” with her. Seven to eight years ago, Devin was brought out on stage with her favorite band and she said it changed the trajectory of her life. As Devin says, she is now doing it as “good karma!”

The last song of the set was “Airhead,” and every single person in the crowd had the highest energy for this song! With it being one of their top played songs on Spotify, there was no surprise that everyone was singing and dancing along.

All in all, the Summer School Tour is one of our favorite tours of the year! It’s so incredible to get to see a lineup of all the best up and coming pop punk bands in the scene play in one night! We will never miss this tour when it stops by our city!
