What can I say about my first time experiencing 54 Ultra live? Amazing! Before they even went on stage at the Observatory in Santa Ana, CA, the room was already packed with dedicated fans of all ages! I shared their excitement and anticipation for the show to start. When the band emerged onto the stage, everyone screamed with excitement! This energy is exactly why I love seeing shows live!
Opening with the song, “What More Can I Do,” Johnny, the lead singer belted out amazing sultry vocals backed with his talented band. I could see why they are so popular! Their set included fan-favorites like “Halo,” “Turn Me Around,” “No Tengo Valor,” and even my favorite “Upside Down!” 54 Ultra delivered an amazing set of 14 uniquely smooth songs. They skillfully mastered a unique range of garage pop, soul, and indie rock with a Latin influence with a 70’s style. Johnny’s voice and presence was sinfully sexy.
I had such a wonderful time experiencing 54 Ultra live! Their down to earth presence and music was captivating and hypnotic. I look forward to seeing them become even bigger than they are now. I’ve never seen the Observatory packed with so many fans. If and when they come back to Orange County or Los Angeles, they are going to need a larger venue to house their ever-growing fanbase!
