A Phantasmagorical Night in Atlanta with Jukebox the Ghost

Fresh off the release of their seventh studio album, Phantasmagorical Vol 1, Jukebox the Ghost played Terminal West in Atlanta, GA. Opening the show were Brooklyn natives Boys Go To Jupiter, bringing their folk pop soul vibes to a pit ready to dance. Lead singer Jess Kantorowitz gave an impressive vocal performance while she led the band and fans in what one can only explain as a dance party in the crowd. The merch table was full of Jukebox the Ghost’s vinyl’s along with their guitarist Tommy Siegel’s comics that were available for purchase. His comics can typically be found circulating on the internet or in the New Yorker.

Jukebox the Ghost took the stage next mixing their set with new songs off Phantasmagorical, and classics that fans know and love like “Colorful” and “Everybody’s Lonely.” At one point in the set, the band asked the crowd if they wanted to hear the next song played terribly or well. Fans obviously chose terribly, and each member of the band switched instruments while they played “Hold It In,” giving everyone in the crowd a good laugh.

Drummer Jesse Kristin got his chance to sing his token song, “Hollywood,” while keyboardist Ben Thornewill kept the energy high and continued with a cover of Chapel Roan’s “Pink Pony Club.” The band continued playing their clever and relatable songs like “Adulthood,” and then got an extra song in the encore due to Ben forgetting the words to their song “Victoria.” Jukebox the Ghost is on tour until November 8th where their tour ends back home in Washington DC, but not before playing their infamous HalloQueen show in Brooklyn on Halloween.
