After kicking off their 2026 tour season at Welcome to Rockville, Coheed and Cambria also booked a series of headlining sideshows in between their arena tour opening for Shinedown. First stop, The Senate in Columbia, SC which is a 1200 capacity warehouse style venue. Fans lined up early for the chance at a good spot in a more intimate setting.

Opening the show was Cicada Rhythm out of Athens, Georgia. This American folk band caught the attention of the room with an upright bass front and center of the stage, played by lead singer Andrea DeMarcus. Rooted in their southern soul, they clearly made new fans by the end of their set. You can see them opening again for Coheed and Cambria on May 25th in Macon, Georgia and June 4th in Asheville, North Carolina.

The smaller stage for this venue made Coheed and Cambria’s light and prop setup all the more impressive once the band came out to the packed crowd. Starting with “In Keeping Secrets of Silent Earth: 3,” into “Devil in Jersey City,” the hairography lead singer Claudio Sanchez is known for on full display. Fans singing every word with passion while donned in the band’s merch.

Coheed brought back some classics like “Here to Mars” and “The Pavilion (A Long Way Back),” that they have not played in years. Along with some songs off their latest album Vaxis III: The Father of Make Believe including playing “Key Entity Extraction VII – Yuko the Trivial” for the first time. Dedication to hair and metal (and black t-shirts) filled the room, as they carried on to their encore.

Ending with “Blind Side Sonny” and “Welcome Home,” the band was able to get their pre-tour jitters. Headlining shows continue May 20th in Fayetteville Arkansas, May 25th in Macon Georgia and June 1st in Destin Florida. You can also see Coheed and Cambria opening for Shinedown May 18th in Sioux Falls South Dakota to the end of August.
