Fletcher, the 31 year old New Jersey native, came to Los Angeles for an intimate night to celebrate her Would You Still Love Me If You Really Knew Me album for the first and final time. The pop singer is known for her raw, confessional songwriting that has helped so many. Much of her music pulls directly from personal experiences, giving her songs an honest, vulnerable feel that resonates with fans. Fletcher has released multiple projects that have performed extremely well, including Girl of My Dreams, and continues to build a fiercely loyal fanbase.

Tonight felt like a beautiful end of an era. I had the opportunity to see Fletcher when she headlined the Greek Theater last year in Los Angeles and comparing that show to this one, it was different. Last year we saw Fletcher in full force but this year it felt like we really got to see Cari. The entire performance from start to finish was intimate, raw, and deeply personal.

As the night went on Fletcher performed not only songs from her new album but some of her iconic hits as well, like “Eras of Us,” “Undrunk,” “Bitter,” she even performed an alternate version of “Becky’s So Hot”. My personal favorite of the night was when she performed “For Cari”, this song was very emotional, I don’t think there was a dry eye in the entire theater. You could tell this song meant a lot to her and as she was singing, she ended up breaking down in tears.

Throughout the night she would take breaks in between songs and talk directly to the audience about what’s been on her mind, what these songs meant to her, and where her headspace was while writing them. She wanted the audience to know that it’s okay to be themselves and show up as they are, that they don’t need to try and fit themselves into a box to be loved and valued.

Even if the night felt like a goodbye, which I truly hope it wasn’t — it’s clear that Fletcher will always be surrounded by a fierce, loyal fanbase that loves her exactly as she is, exactly where she’s at.
