WHY NOT NOW? Festival: Big Sound, Big Production, and Big Energy

Why Not Now?, a brand new House and DnB festival experience and music showcase, took over Industry City in Brooklyn, New York for two massive nights on Saturday, May 23rd and Sunday, May 24th. The festival featured Gorgon City, Chase & Status, and many more artists, transforming the location’s traditionally industrial atmosphere into a full-scale dance escape for festivalgoers. Known for its towering surrounding buildings and connecting corridors that make this location so unique, Industry City provided the perfect place to amplify the sights and sounds of this festival’s stacked line-up.

The first night of the festival leaned more toward house music with headlining titans Gorgon City bringing their huge UK flavor. Perfectly supplementing the high-energy was Italian tech-house artist GENESI, who brought the darker melodic and tech-house energy. Rounding out the first night’s lineup was NYC’s underground music powerhouse Linska, the emerging artist TOBEHONEST, genre-blending DREYA V, and Stello, a rising star in the NYC progressive house and techno scene.

The second night of the festival was a dream for bass heads, culminating with a headlining set from DnB royalty Chase & Status, following an epic and euphoric 2-hour b2b with Joy (Anonymous) and MPH. So many more incredible artists rounded out the lineup, including UK garage artist Flava D, experimental sounds from Toronto artist Bambii, and DnB artist Dave Schichman.

Unpredictable NYC weather did not stop the crowd from flooding Industry City. With several incredible vantage points throughout the venue’s open-air courtyard, festivalgoers enjoyed ample space to dance and enjoy the light and laser projections against the surrounding buildings. For those who opted to stay dry, many activations were set up inside, allowing attendees to shop, drink, mingle, dance, and even paint.

Why Not Now? proved to be a fantastic addition to NYC’s current rave scene. Spread across its expansive location, the inaugural boutique-style festival was truly a vision of electronic music and creative culture brought to life. The programming felt curated and thoughtful, perfectly balancing live performances, interactive activations, and opportunities for festival-goers to embrace the energy in their own way. The mosaic of global and local artists allowed attendees to experience the magic of music in the present through sights, sounds, creative expression, and genuine human connection. The festival served as a reminder to embrace new experiences and always ask ourselves — why not now?
