Last weekend, Tim Atlas stopped at The Rebel Lounge in Phoenix with support from Josh Fudge and Cameron Jeong for a night of groovy jams and good times.
Cameron Jeong
Cameron Jeong started the night with a stunning performance of soulful vocals and gorgeous melodies. Her all-local band—head-to-toe in white—moved together effortlessly, swapping solos and locking into deep grooves across guitar, bass, keys, drums, sax/flute, and trombone. A standout moment came when she had the crowd pause for a collective breath, accompanied by sound bowls. Then, it transitioned into a cover of Erykah Badu. Her presence was vibrant, and the crowd was locked in swaying, dancing, and cheering from start to finish.
Josh Fudge
Next up was Josh Fudge, who brought a groovy energy that was impossible not to vibe with. He opened under a soft blue spotlight, surrounded by his keyboard, bass, and laptop, blending live instruments with pre-recorded textures and silky vocals. His bassist stood out with a wild-looking geometric Fender P-Bass that popped under the lights, delivering R&B/jazz-inspired lines straight out of the ’70s and ’80s. The chemistry between Josh and his drummer was authentic. They were laughing, smiling, and having a blast. He even got the crowd involved in a singalong “woo” before shouting out his longtime drummer. The whole thing felt laid-back and joyful. If I had to use one word to describe this set, it would be “Groovy.”
Tim Atlas
Atlas’s set design was one of the coolest of the night—complete with a vintage streetlight, glowing LED tubes, and three circular screens in the back that lit up with colorful, funny, and sometimes trippy visuals from a projector. At one point, a spinning vinyl animation looped behind him. Even his mic had style: green with a bright orange cover.
Musically, Tim’s set was tight and layered, mixing electronic textures with flute, keys, guitar, bass, and drums. His vocals were smooth and soulful, soaked in just the right reverb. Every part of the mix felt intentional and crisp without sounding out of place. The crowd was dancing hard, singing along, and vibing with the rich, textured world Tim built on stage.
