The Vaccines: Back in New York City

The Vaccines rocked Brooklyn Steel in Brooklyn, NY on Friday, January 17th, for the second show of their 2025 North American Tour. The English indie rock band from West London, consisting of Justin Young (lead vocals, guitars), Árni Árnason (bass, vocals), Timothy Lanham (guitars, keys, vocals) and Yoann Intonti (drums), are currently on their headlining tour, coming a year after the release of their sixth studio album, Pick-Up Full of Pink Carnations (2024).

Paying tribute to fellow Brit Paul McCartney, the band walked out on stage to Wings’ 1973 hit, “Live and Let Die,” and immediately jumped into an energetic performance of “Love to Walk Away” from their new album. Early on in the set, lead singer Justin Young took a moment between songs to thank the lively Brooklyn crowd for their enthusiasm and support, and recognized the same location that had welcomed the band for the first time nearly 14 years prior.

Throughout their set, the band wove through their 15 year discography, including obvious crowd favorites like “I Always Knew,” “If You Wanna,” “Post Break-Up Sex,” and “I Can’t Quit.” Songs from their new album were well balanced throughout the set, inclusive of “Sometimes, I Swear” and “Lunar Eclipse” during the encore, further showcasing the band’s ever-evolving sound balanced with their signature infectious energy.
