It was another Saturday night in Orange County, California and the metalcore legends in Fit For A King had made their way to the House of Blues in Anaheim. Having recently released their highly anticipated eight studio album, Lonely God, the band was back out on the road for a headlining tour. This time bringing along with them a stacked line up including: Make Them Suffer, Spite, and 156/Silence.
Starting things off, 156/Silence held nothing back as they opened up the show and got the crowd warmed up. Spite delivered a crushing set full of angry guitar riffs and breakdowns. And hailing from the land down under, the Australian band Make Them Suffer raised the energy even higher with their engaging onstage performance.

Once it was time for Fit For A King to take to the stage, the crowd had been in a state of frenzy all night. The mosh pits had been raging and crowd surfers had been flying over the barricade. But as soon as the lights dimmed, it was like everyone suddenly got a burst of energy. The stage was lit by two separate LCD screens on opposite sides of the stage, and as the band took their places, the crowd roared to greet them. They played a majority of songs off their newest album, including “Begin the Sacrifice,” “The Temple,” and “No Tomorrow.” A highlight of the night was Bassist Ryan O’Leary, spinning his bass guitar around his body while leaping high into the air, all without missing a single note.

After more than 15 years together as a band, Fit For A King shows no sign of slowing down. Continuing to put out new music that showcases them refining their craft as musicians while never compromising on their heavy sound. After playing through 14 songs, they concluded their regular set with “Witness The End.” Throughout their set, the crowd’s energy never let up. After a quick break, the band came back onstage for an encore set. Fit For A King played their title track “Lonely God” and thanked the crowd for an amazing night. Overall this tour showcases the best that modern metal has to offer. Each band are powerhouses on their own, but together on one lineup, this is a tour you have to experience firsthand.
