Tuesday night was a devotion ceremony as the coffin crew came out to The Glass House to see The Funeral Portrait open up for Catch Your Breath in Pomona, CA.
The Funeral Portrait opened up for Catch Your Breath, Tuesday night, and gave us a devotion ceremony to remember. This was my second time seeing The Funeral Portrait live and they’ve got even better from the last time I saw them! The Funeral Portrait has a very interesting sound and style; they call their shows a devotion ceremony and the fans are referred to as the coffin crew. Throughout their entire performance fans were dancing and singing their hearts out, including myself after I got done photographing.

The band had a really cool stage setup, normally openers don’t have much on the stage but The Funeral Portrait had their own custom LED signs towards the back that was their logo which added their own personal touch to the stage and made it really feel like they were headlining the show. They performed hits from their Greetings From Suffocate City album including “Suffocate City” which hit number one on the billboard chart! Lee, the lead singer, has a truly remarkable voice and charisma. Every time I see him, he gives me “Joker” vibes and I’m so here for it. If you get the chance to see The Funeral Portrait live, absolutely do it. They will be back on the West Coast later this year for the Long Beach date of Warped Tour!

Catch Your Breath headlined The Glass House in Pomona, California on Tuesday night and turned this venue into an intimate setting with crowd surfers and mosh pits. Fans of all ages were out to this show; parents with their kids, couples, to even people by themselves having the time of their lives! Lead singer Josh Mowery wore a classic all black fit with a slim puffer jacket and beanie. Drummer Onell Hernandez, had their “Shame On Me” album cover art on his drum set which I thought was a unique touch!
Their entire set was played around their “Shame On Me” album and my personal favorites were “21 Gun Salute” and “Y.S.K.W,” there wasn’t one song that the crowd didn’t love and sing their hearts out to! One fan in particular caught me eye when they played their hit song “Dial Tone,” she started crying as she was singing along with them and it was such a sweet intimate moment that you could really tell the song helped her through some dark times. Catch Your Breath is a band worth seeing live, they are continuing this tour through March 8th with their special guests Archers, If Not For Me, and The Funeral Portrait. Make sure to go catch a show!
