Simple Plan Kicks Off Their Tour with a Sold-Out Show in Las Vegas

Simple Plan kicked off the Bigger Than You Think! Tour — The Sequel! at Pearl Concert Theater on July 24, 2026, inside the Palms Casino to a sold-out show of die-hards and punk rock nostalgists. With the same lineup of openers as the original Bigger Than You Think! Tour from 2025, fans came out in abundance to continue the anniversary party of Simple Plan. The line for venue entry wove deep into the casino floor, snaking around and between slot machines. I could feel the excitement throughout the Palms while making my way to the concert. Once inside the showroom, the venue opened up into a large GA pit surrounded by a three-tiered mezzanine seating arrangement which allowed for excellent views of the stage from any angle or floor. Pearl Concert Theater proved to be the perfect venue to set the tone.

Boulder, Colorado’s finest exports, Sean Foreman and Nat Motte, the synth pop duo 3OH!3 opened the show and brought the crowd back to high school singing crowd favorites like “STARSTRUKK,” “My First Kiss,” and “DONTTRUSTME.” It seemed like everyone knew the words to every song until they played a newly released title, “MY FRIENDS,” which dropped the same day as the show. 3OH!3 always brings a fun-loving energy to their live sets. With the crowd charged up by the electro pop classics, the second opening act came to bowl.

Bowling for Soup is one of the finest live performances out there. They play album-perfect, but with the loose ease of men living their dreams every night of the week. Refusing to take themselves seriously, Jaret Reddick (lead vocals and guitar), Rob Felicetti (bass, backup vocals, and guitar), and Gary Wiseman (drums), posture and pose in silly ways any time they feel a camera on them. Inveterate showmen, they gave the crowd fan favorites such as “Ohio” and “Almost.” At one point, Jaret jokingly commented that the audience had the privilege of seeing the best band to have a cartoon theme song credit, leaving it up to the crowd to decide whether that was them or Simple Plan, who have both provided vocals for animated television shows.

Then came Simple Plan, who had a simple plan… rock our socks off. The men from Montreal promise one thing at their shows: attendees will have a great time — and they deliver. Performing with a verve and presence of men half their age, the band started off with the track “I’d Do Anything.” Pierre Bouvier (lead vocals), Jeff Stinco (lead guitar), and Sébastien Lefebvre (rhythm guitar) were frenetic on stage, jumping off risers and dancing with an energy that is downright athletic throughout their set.

While Simple Plan dominated the stage with their manic presence, an impressive array of cryo blasts and confetti cannons turned an already stellar musical performance into a spectacle to behold. The audience was coated in layers of confetti and the cryo remained active for a majority of the set.

Later, during the song “Summer Paradise,” giant beach balls were tossed into the audience as the stage lights went neon pink and orange-yellow, casting the audience into a psychedelic Cyberpunk meets GTA Vice City cover art aesthetic. One of my favorite moments was when they played “What’s New Scooby Doo?,” recorded for the eponymous television series back in 2002; fans wearing full-on Scooby Doo costumes came out on stage to dance, and the Scoobies were a delight.

Simple Plan formed in 1999 and has been beloved by fans for over two and a half decades. With that timeless sound of concentrated teenage angst, a new generation has found them to speak to their adolescent souls. Pierre spoke about how “I’m Just a Kid” had a resurgence of popularity due to recent TikTok trends and then flowed right into the song as their first encore. Chuck Comeau (drummer), sported a Golden Knights jersey and crowd surfed across fans while Bouvier took over drums and Jaret of BFS also took the stage. Comeau did not miss out on the jumps. Once he was pushed back on stage he went to the higher riser where the drums were located and caught major air as he jumped to the main stage floor. They ended the night with fan favorite “Perfect,” culminating with the audience being buried in confetti as simultaneous blistering arrays of sparks and cryo plumes dealt the final blow. With seventeen total tour stops across the USA before they finish in Toronto, ON, you would be doing yourself a disservice to miss out on the party.
