Rico Nasty Rages in LA with Special Guest Hayley Williams & More

On November 4th, Rico Nasty concluded her LETHAL tour at the Fonda Theatre in Los Angeles. Maria-Cecilia Simone Kelly, known professionally as Rico Nasty, is appreciated for her unique style and in-your-face lyrics. The punk rapper’s third studio album and first with record label Fueled by Ramen, LETHAL is the latest dynamic work from Nasty, blending rage rap, post-punk, and her trademark sugar trap style. The 28-year-old from Maryland has been rapping since she was in high school and continues to reinvent herself and make sure she never fits in. She’s full of rage and she’s the happiest rapper you’ll ever see on stage.

SadBoi (Natalie Ryan)

Canadian singer-songwriter SadBoi opened the show, hyping up the crowd with her sexy club songs. Her DJ, B1GTK, played a small set of club hits before she went on to warm up the crowd. Ebhoni Jade Cato-O’Garro, formerly known as Ebhoni and now going by SadBoi, got the whole crowd dancing with her lush R&B tracks including “Johnny,” “L’s,” “Baddies,” and “Fashion Week,” while frequently showing off her own moves to the excited cheers of the audience. She finished the set with a singalong of fun.’s “We Are Young,” with the crowd singing their hearts out to the iconic song with her.

Rico Nasty’s fanbase, aka #NastyMob, showed up in full force for their girl. Everyone was wearing their finest black leather, their biggest platform shoes, and their sharpest eyeliner. The baddies were out on this Tuesday night. Rico Nasty finally came on stage to “WHO WANT IT,” the crowd going crazy at the sight of her. She moved through her setlist flawlessly, moving from bubbly pop leaning songs like “ON THE LOW,” to anthemic bangers as in “STFU,” and then into punk ragers such as “SMOKE BREAK.” With a set of ~40 songs, Rico kept the energy high, playing hit after hit, without a hint of overstaying her welcome.

A performer through and through, she kept the crowd engaged while never needing to catch her breath and looking radiantly joyful the entire time. She played multiple songs that she’s featured on, including Doja Cat’s “Tia Tamera,” 9lives’ “my way,” and ScHoolboy Q’s “Pop.” Rico also brought out local rapper Molly Santana to do Santana’s song “Chain Swangin.” Later on Rico did “Messy” with Texas rapper Teezo Touchdown, an exciting surprise for everyone. One of her most popular songs, “Rage,” got a huge reaction from the crowd, with the entire audience jumping and screaming along with her.

Rico Nasty and Hayley Williams of Paramore (Natalie Ryan)

Then, as if that wasn’t enough, Ms. Nasty brought out the one and only Hayley Williams to perform her biggest hit, “Smack A Bitch,” to finish the set. The crowd went mental for the Paramore frontwoman on stage, and Rico looked like she could die from happiness then and there. In 2023, Rico joined Paramore on stage during their legendary pop-punk hit “Misery Business,” and years later, it’s delightful to see the two women continue to support each other. Rico Nasty masterfully put on an unforgettable show full of surprises that left fans even more obsessed by the end of the night. She’s an undeniable icon in the making, and the only way to go from here is up.
