Two weeks before Christmas, Lindsey Stirling’s Snow Waltz Tour made a stop at Ovens Auditorium in Charlotte, NC. With a set donned to look like a holiday bakery, Stirling started with the song “Sleigh Ride,” which created a winter wonderland for the next hour and 40 minutes. With the recent release of the deluxe edition of her album Snow Waltz, the audience was packed with fans of every age dressed to impress with their holiday outfits.
This show was full of classic favorites like “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Snow Waltz,” “Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy,” and “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch.” Stirling was singing and dancing nonstop all while playing her famous violin while stopping to tell a few personal stories. One story that stuck with me was about there being “magic in all of us”. She was walking in her neighborhood one day and saw her neighbor who told her she was magic. The smile on her neighbor’s face reminded her of her dad who passed in 2017, who called her Magic as a child.
The show was so unique and full of unconventional holiday cheer, including her manager Erich Johnson dressed as a grumpy Christmas tree. The show ended beautifully with an aerial performance high above the stage while playing the violin. The tour continues throughout Tennessee, Alabama, Indiana, and ends in Kentucky. If you are looking for more Lindsey Stirling, she has her own cruise going out in May 2025 called Master of Tides.
