Lindsey Stirling known for her incredible violin playing, theatrics and boundless energy came to the Skyla Amp in Charlotte over the weekend. The crowd was filled with people of all ages including a lot of children dressed like their favorite Lindsey performances. The excitement filled the venue as most were happy to have a Saturday summer night out with live music.
Opening the show was PVRIS, an alt rock and electropop music band there to energize the crowd. Led by lead singer Lynn Gunn, they started their set with “Dead Weight” and then into “Snakes,” which is the soundtrack of Arcane, the new League of Legends animated Netflix Series. PVRIS ended their set with one of their famous songs “Hallucinations,” that focuses on not being able to fully let go of someone.
Next up, the headliner herself, Lindsey Stirling took the stage with a Led Zeppelin cover, “Kashmir” and going straight into her song “Underground.” The night continued on with fan favorites such as “Artemis,” “Shatter Me,” and “Crystallize.” Throughout the night, Stirling showed off aerial choreography while not missing a beat on the violin. Before starting her song, “Eye Of The Untold Her”, Stirling took time talking to the audience about focusing on mental health and being present, while taking a pause. She talked about one of her late father’s famous quotes to her, “When nothing is happening, actually everything is happening.” He always told her to take time to pause. You can catch this tour continuing out West and then coming back to the Midwest while finishing up in Indianapolis on August 22nd.
