La Luz took the stage at Elsewhere in Brooklyn, NY on Wednesday, October 9th, supported by indie rock musician Mia Joy. The “surf noir” band, comprised of Shana Cleveland (guitar, lead vocals), Audrey Johnson (drums, backing vocals), Maryam Qudus (keyboard, backing vocals), and Lee Johnson (bass, backing vocals), is currently touring in support of the release of their new album, News of the World (2024).

The quartet brought their signature blend of surf rock and dreamy pop to a captivated Brooklyn audience. The intimate venue, with its eclectic vibe and intimate setting, provided the perfect backdrop for the band’s infectious energy and vibrant lighting projections. Throughout the set, La Luz took time to engage with the audience, sharing stories about their touring experience thus far. This personal touch deepened the connection between the band and the crowd, transforming the concert into a shared experience rather than just simply a performance. Their nostalgic sound and layered instrumentation also had the audience feeling engaged and absolutely electric.

La Luz’s performance at Elsewhere was a dazzling and colorful experience. Their blend of catchy melodies, tight harmonies, and engaging stage presence made for a night that was both memorable and enchanting. Make sure to catch La Luz on their remaining U.S. tour dates through the end of November.
