In an exclusive interview following his set, BVRRN graciously shared insights into his musical journey and influences with us. From his roots in Palm Springs to sharing the stage with industry giants, BVRRN’s ascent is a testament to his unwavering dedication to crafting enchanting beats that captivate audiences worldwide. Read below as we delve deeper into the mind of this rising star in the world of electronic music with BVRRN.

F3NF: How did you get your stage name?
B:
My name is a spin on my last name, Barron. I got rid of the vowels and put a “V” in place of the letter “A” however people were pronouncing it burn and it felt fitting. In a way I ended up letting my audience choose my name.

F3NF: And how long have you been making music?
B:
I started dabbling with electronic music and production several years ago for fun, but was never able to really get the hang of it. Then when the pandemic hit in 2020, I had tons of free time to really dive into the world of production. I spend countless hours day and night watching tutorials and practicing hours on end.

F3NF: What would you say your musical influence consists of?
B:
My influences range from indie rock to disco to hip hop to house music (of course) with some of my favorite artists being: Odesza, Louis the Child, Snakehips, Tame Impala and Beach House, just to name a few.

F3NF: Who was your first concert?
B: My first concert was Coachella Fest 2010.

F3NF: What was your introduction to EDM like and how did that impact you?
B:
I remember hearing Flume for the first time with his song “Sleepless” and feeling absolutely euphoric. I also heard a remix of “Compass” by Zella Day that Louis the Child had made and remember getting goosebumps with how those synths and bass hit. I told myself I wanted to make synthy stuff like that and ended up incorporating that sound into house records.

F3NF: What was it like getting “Eyes Closed” on Snakehips’ imprint label Never Worry Records?
B:
Honestly, a very humbling experience for me. I’ve been a longtime Snakehips fan since before I even started DJ’ing. It was definitely a full circle moment getting one of my records signed by their label and having them support the record on tour.

F3NF: Even better, how did it feel getting asked to open for their sold-out San Diego show?
B:
Honestly, it was such a surreal moment for me! They were really dope and the show was so much fun.

F3NF: What are your future sights set on now?
B:
I’m hungry for more. I want to push myself even further to get to the next phase of my music career. One of my main goals is to play at the DoLab at Coachella. I live 15 minutes away and go every year. It’s definitely a long time goal of mine that I hope to manifest.
