The Avenue of the Saints Amphitheatre in St. Charles, Iowa will, once again, be home to the Hinterland Music Festival. This year, an additional day of festivities and entertainment is being added to what has traditionally been three days, as the festival saw record-breaking sales last year. Instead of Friday through Sunday, attendees can now begin the anticipated festival weekend one day earlier. This annual festival began in 2015, and is now celebrating its eleventh year. The plethora of musical genres will entertain attendees across several stages throughout the festival grounds, including the Miniland Stage, which is just right for kids!

The fun begins on Thursday, July 30 on the Main Stage with Filipino indie pop artist, Beabadoobee, hyper-pop/rapper Ashnikko, pop artist Jane Remover, the intimate, alt-rock sound of Porch Light, pop duo Frost Children, and French musician, Oklou. Also in that day’s lineup is Korean-American artist Audrey Nuna, who provides the singing voice of the character Mira in the 2025 hit Netflix animated film, KPop Demon Hunters. Headlining on the main stage that evening will be the all-girl group, KATSEYE. Formed just a few years ago in 2023, I’m truly looking forward to seeing these rising pop artists finalizing the lineup that night. For those wishing to continue the festivities afterwards, the Campfire Stage will host artists Nourished by Time and Pixel Grip until the wee hours of the morning. All ticket holders are welcome to attend, not just the campers.
Friday’s lineup includes American pop band MUNA, electronic duo Snow Strippers, Scottish pop artist Paris Paloma, 21-year-old pop artist SOFIA ISELLA, Wisp, and queer artist Saint Avangeline. Headlining that evening is the incomparable Lorde, whose 2013 debut single “Royals” had earned multiple awards and nominations. The music and fun will continue that evening yet again at the Campfire Stage with artists Between Friends and Ninajirachi.
Saturday, August 1st boasts quite a full lineup with American singer-songwriter Jessie Murph, rock band The Format, Santigold, Dublin-born Irish singer CMAT, 19-year-old country music artist Waylon Wyatt, who’s been selling out quite a few of his shows in recent months, Irish trio Amble (who I’m truly looking forward to hearing), and Long Island-born singer-songwriter Julia Wolf. Headlining the Main Stage is the renowned British folk-rock band Mumford & Sons. Of course the Campfire Stage will be hoppin’ once again late that evening with the music of The Brook & the Bluff and Buffalo Traffic Jam.
Hinterland’s final day of the festival on Sunday, August 2 will feature Puerto Rican rapper Young Miko, rock band Geese, Wet Leg, actress and singer Suki Waterhouse, Audrey Hobert, Samia, and pop duo Haute and Freddy. The festival would not be complete without its final headliner that night, multi award-winning artist Kali Uchis. For those wishing to stick around for just a bit more music to satisfy your soul, the Campfire Stage will once more play host to two more bands, Die Spitz and Gouge Away.
Complete with camping facilities, family-friendly activities, vendors, and of course festival and artists’ merchandise, Hinterland will be home for thousands of people to gather in the bucolic countryside of Saint Charles Iowa from July 30th – August 2nd, 2026.
Single day GA tickets are available for $155, and 2-day GA for $310. 4-day GA, GA+ VIP, and VIP+ are also available. 4-day GA starts at $390, VIP at $910, and for a multitude of perks, including premium parking, elevated open-air lounges, and more, 4-day VIP + Passes begin at $1520.
