Pasadena, CA — March 11, 2026 — FERAL, a nonprofit dedicated to supporting survivors of human trafficking, domestic violence, and trauma, officially launches its new identity during Women’s History Month with a series of powerful community-centered events in Los Angeles.
The organization marks its new evolution with immersive art, direct survivor support, and programming rooted in healing, creative expression, and the reclamation of personal power. The name FERAL represents a return to what is instinctive, authentic, and untamed. Inspired by the Latin root ferus, meaning wild, the organization embraces the idea that healing requires reconnecting to one’s inner truth beyond societal expectations, silence, and shame.
Community members, partners, and the general public are invited to attend their upcoming events below and learn more about FERAL’s expanded mission.

Sororal Mounds: An Immersive Contemplation on Sisterhood
At the center of the launch is Sororal Mounds, a large-scale art installation by Caleb Wheeler staged in a vacant warehouse in the El Sereno neighborhood of East Los Angeles. It will be open to the public March 13th-15th and March 20th-22nd.
These sculptural mounds made with materials like palm fronds, concrete, and clay function as altars to destruction, desertion, and reintegration reflecting how women and survivors remain defiantly communal within social paradigms that often attempt to isolate or divide them. Accompanied by healing frequencies and illuminated solely by natural light, the installation creates a space for congregation and solitude beyond home, work, or commerce.
“In light of current events coinciding with Women’s History Month and Feral’s powerful rebrand, we need to not only practice a serious reverence for sisterhood but to actively engage in it. This installation provides a sacred space for that.” — Caleb Wheeler (artist)
On Friday, March 20th, in honor of the Spring Equinox, there will be a sound bath staged amongst the installation in the afternoon and a special event in the evening featuring live music and guest speakers discussing themes of sisterhood, resilience, ecological interconnection, and their relevance to the state of the world.
“It’s also a call for men to step up and help elevate women’s voices. This installation highlights the strength of sisterhood while reflecting Caleb’s ongoing commitment to using his platform and privilege to support women and help create space for our voices to be heard,” — Laverne Delgado (FERAL founder)
A Day of Empowerment with Milena Rose Salon
In honor of Women’s History Month, Milena Rose Salon is partnering with FERAL for a dedicated Day of Empowerment for survivors of abuse as part of the organization’s FERAL Fashion Initiative. Each participant will receive professional hair services from experienced artists, luxury hair tools, and access to essential resources. The initiative harnesses the inherent power of fashion and beauty as tools for healing, education, and agency helping to restore dignity, rebuild self-trust, and reclaim choice over how participants are seen in the world.
“Women’s History Month is a time to celebrate the power of women supporting and uplifting one another. That spirit of sisterhood is at the heart of FERAL’s work. It’s also a call for men to step up and help elevate women’s voices. This installation highlights the strength of sisterhood while reflecting Caleb’s ongoing commitment to using his platform and privilege to support women and help create space for our voices to be heard.” — Laverne Delgado.
Founded in 2008 as Freedom & Fashion, the organization began by harnessing the transformative power of fashion and beauty as tools for confidence, dignity, and opportunity. Over time, its work expanded beyond fashion to address the interconnected needs of mind, body, community, and nature in the healing journey.
FERAL’s work is now grounded in five core pillars designed to support comprehensive healing and long-term stability:
- FERAL Feminine – Returning to Self
- FERAL Nature – Awakening Primal Power
- FERAL Movement – Taking the Body Back
- FERAL Family – Providing for Her Pack
- FERAL Fashion – Reclaiming Identity
Through trauma-informed programming, community building, creative initiatives, and essential resource support, FERAL aims to guide survivors not only toward safety, but toward wholeness.
As FERAL enters this new era, the organization invites partners, donors, volunteers, and community members to join in advancing a movement rooted in instinct, healing, and unapologetic strength.
