The Masonic Lodge at Hollywood Forever Cemetery was the lucky venue that got to host eaJ this past weekend. eaJ, formerly of the K-Pop group Day6, made his way to Los Angeles to celebrate the release of his newest EP with two sold out shows. This venue has got a great view from all areas whether you’re up in the balcony, by the stage, or on a side bench. As the lights go dark and the intro plays, the crowd was hyped — especially when they noticed that eaJ wouldn’t be coming out on stage in the traditional sense. Instead, he came out through the crowd and sang with the fans for the first song! eaJ’s vocals were on point. Throughout the night, his energy didn’t let up once; he was making sure the fans were having the time of their lives.

We got to hear his brand new EP titled 1 — which included “Ruin My Life,” “Pause,” “Red,” and a few others! eaJ was wearing a Korean fashion inspired, two-piece suit style outfit which encapsulated his personality and style. Throughout his entire set, eaJ made sure to interact with the crowd and constantly thanked them for coming out to celebrate his new EP with him. You could tell that his fans mean a lot to him and personally when an artist takes the time to not just perform but really deliver a special night that will have everyone remembering for a long time, it makes me respect them even more. You can tell he took his time planning this show out and making sure it was everything and more!

By the end of the night, eaJ didn’t need to say much; his performance had already said everything. You could clearly tell that everyone was sad the night was ending as they slowly filtered out of the Masonic Lodge, I overheard a several fans talking as we were all walking to our cars saying it was the best night they’d had in a long time and one fan said, “eaJ is the best artist I’ve seen live. No one tops him.” Fans were really taking a moment to sit with what they’d just experienced. It wasn’t just EP release show; it was a reminder of why live music matters. By the end of his show, he gained a new fan in me. I hope to catch a future show of his and if you haven’t seen him live, you should!
