After several tours as a support act for bands like Blondshell, Illuminati Hotties, and Annie DiRusso, it was finally time for Daffo to headline a tour of their own. Celebrating the release of the band’s debut album Where The Earth Bends, they set out on a U.S. and Canada run that spanned 20 cities. This past Wednesday, I caught the Atlanta stop in the Altar Room at The Masquerade, a space known for its intimate atmosphere and the kind of artist-to-fan connection that pulls the music a little closer to your soul.

Daffo took the stage to a rowdy welcome from a room packed with music lovers eager to hear lead singer Gabi Gamberg bring her unique, high-energy sound to life. Gabi can effortlessly tap into heartfelt emotion with melodic songs like “Sideways,” “Get A Life,” and the title track “Where The Earth Bends,” while also unleashing a raw, grunge-heavy edge on tracks like “Absence Makes The Heart Grow” and “Dagger Song.” The night felt like a rollercoaster, with the crowd jumping and shouting one moment, then swaying along as the music seemed to take over the room.

At just 21, Gabi Gamberg carries the musical presence of someone far beyond her years. She can melt the paint off the walls with her guitar work and searing vocals, then turn around and use that same intensity to craft something beautifully melodic. This may be Daffo’s first headlining tour, but it’s hard to imagine it being their last. Their debut album has quickly become a repeat listen for me, and I’m genuinely excited to see where their musical endeavors take them next.
