On April 11-13 and April 18-20, the desert of Coachella will turn into a musical playground again. For the first time ever, Green Day is set to make their headlining Coachella debut on both Saturdays of this year’s edition. The festival with Lady Gaga, Post Malone and Travis Scott as the other headlining acts, will take place at the traditional Coachella Valley in Indio, California.

Even though the early years of the desert festival had focused on rock and indie bands, it’s since shifted to include a wide range of different genres. This year’s edition is shaping up to be one of the more rock-heavy lineups of recent years, with Saturday’s headliner Green Day performing at the festival for their first time, ever. There’ll also be be loud performances from Jimmy Eat World, The Go-Go’s, Amyl and the Sniffers, Bob Vylan, Circle Jerks and The Prodigy, as well as the original lineup of the Misfits.
Of course, Coachella wouldn’t be as popular as it is, without some absolutely legendary artists showing up. If noisy guitars aren’t your thing, you’ll find plenty of alternatives with sets from Missy Elliot, MARINA, Charli XCX, Megan Thee Stallion and more to look forward to. BLACKPINK’s JENNIE and LISA are also due to perform their own solo shows this year, after taking up the headlining spot as a group in 2023.
The bohemian spirit of the festival wouldn’t be complete without the art installations, ferris wheel, outfits and good food. As Lady Gaga, an honorary rockstar in our eyes, said in her Coachella announcement, “I have long dreamed of throwing a massive night of chaos in the desert”, and we can’t wait to dance along with her. Whether you’re going for the music or the vibes, this year’s edition will prove to be one with plenty of both!
Tickets for the first weekend have sold out, but you can still buy passes for weekend 2, or sign up for the waitlist for tickets on the Coachella website (https://www.coachella.com).
