Bright Lights, Country Soul: Dylan Gossett’s Sold-Out Wiltern Takeover

Dylan Gossett, the 26-year-old Texas native, brought his Westward Tour to Los Angeles for a sold-out night at The Wiltern. Dylan is known for his country/red-dirt music with his breakout single “Coal” charting on the Billboard Hot 100 in 2021! He self-wrote, recorded, and produced much of his music, giving his songs a raw and authentic feel. Dylan debuted his first album Westward this past July, which has done extremely well. He’s been building a loyal fanbase along the way, becoming in my opinion, one of the fastest growing country music artists.

Opening the night was Buffalo Traffic Jam, a folk duo from Montana. I wasn’t familiar with them before tonight but was instantly blown away by their sound. Lead singer Frankie Cassidy has a voice like no other; it’s one of those that instantly make you feel something. The other half of the duo is Nathan Ross who plays the guitar and the mandolin, perfectly might I add. The duo took the crowd by storm and had everyone enjoying every second, it’s safe to say they gained a ton of new fans!

Closing out the night was headliner Dylan Gossett, as the lights dimmed the crowd went wild, one of the loudest crowds I’ve heard. Dylan opened his set with “Seven Bridges Road” and had some of the most beautiful warm lighting which continued the entire night. His entire stage setup was perfectly thought out, you could tell he wanted to make sure his show was perfect. Throughout the night I truly don’t think there was ever a song where it was quiet, no matter what every fan in attendance was on their feet and singing their hearts out! It was a true testament to how loved Dylan is.

As the night went on, Dylan mentioned to the crowd that this was the largest headlining show he’s ever played in Los Angeles, which he completely sold out! The Wiltern might be the largest show he’s played here so far, but I fully believe we will see him again in Los Angeles with the next time being in an arena. If you get the chance to see Dylan live, I recommend you do it, hands down one of the best shows I’ve been to all year!
