Florida natives Bodysnatcher return with their 4th studio album Hell is Here, Hell is Home on April 10th — Having released their Vile Conduct EP in 2024, vocalist Kyle Medina, guitarist Kyle Carter, bassist Kyle Shope, and drummer Chris Whited deliver a release that embodies the band’s intensity and darker undertones, solidifying their unique sound in the deathcore scene. Hell is Here, Hell is Home stands as a perfect culmination of that refinement — the growth of balancing old-school hardcore beatdown inspiration alongside the refined riff-driven deathcore aggression. Their inspirations have resulted in a diverse range of sounds, but has also led to one of the most refined entries in Bodysnatchers catalog to date.

Opening with “The Maker” — Bodysnatcher sets a solid impression on how “in your face” this album will be. The band follows up with “Writhe and Coil,” a fiery and riff heavy song that begins to showcase their old-school metal inspiration and introduces the gang chants to the album. This sets the stage for what Hell is Here, Hell is Home embodies. The intensity is entirely intentional, as drummer Chris Whited has said:
“A lot of today’s world plays into this album… We really feel that listeners across the globe can find something to connect with in these songs.”
Another standout track is “May Your Memory Rot,” a deeply personal track to drummer Chris Whited – but one that resonates with overall themes of the album that listeners can relate to. This song in particular easily showcases the album’s unrelenting aggression that is rooted in hardship, revenge, and catharsis. “Survive or Die” is a treat for any fan of hardcore, as legendary vocalist Scott Vogel from Terror makes a guest appearance on this track. This song is absolutely ripe for stage dives and gang chants if this was ever played live. The album ends with “Hell is Home” — a huge track painted in breakdowns ending with a very heavy note: “The world gives you nothing, give it nothing back.”
Bodysnatcher’s fourth album is a great showcase of the most intense aspects of modern heavy music. By skillfully blending elements of deathcore and hardcore, the band demonstrates a deep understanding of both genres at their cores. Hell is Here, Hell is Home stands out as a defining entry in Bodysnatcher’s discography.
