Scottish rock band Biffy Clyro brought their Futique Tour to The Majestic Theatre Detroit on Friday, May 1. They delivered a high-energy performance that felt perfectly suited for the intimate downtown venue.

Opening the night was Raue, a grunge duo from California that opened the show with a bang. Their performance was raw, but impressively tight. Their gritty vocals and wild drumbeats created a magnetic charm. Their set included tracks such as “Escape,” “Come Around,” and “Karma.” Raue really captured the attention of the crowd with an explosive set.

The crowd was getting antsy waiting for Biffy Clyro to finally take the stage. When the lights finally dimmed again, fans rejoiced. The band entered with red lights overhead and clouds of thick haze floating across the stage. Biffy Clyro started their set with “A Little Love” from their tenth studio album, Futique. Throughout the night, they played a variety of songs from across seven different albums. Longtime fans packed against the barricade were blissfully singing along to every tune, too. Highlights from their set were “Hunting Season,” “Tiny Indoor Fireworks,” and “Biblical.”

Nearing the end of the night, the band performed a five-song encore that included hits “The Captain” and “Bubbles.” When the last notes of “Many of Horror” rang out, the audience was left with an unforgettable evening of live entertainment.
