Bass Queen Blu DeTiger Reigns Over NYC

“Bass Queen” Blu DeTiger brought her star power and transcendent presence to the stage at Knockdown Center in New York City on Saturday, August 16th. In support of her newest single release, “High Like Heaven,” the NYC native was accompanied by her brother and co-collaborator Rex for an unforgettable evening fit for the Queen herself. The sibling powerhouse duo rocked the stage for a two-hour DJ set, which was packed with their signature high energy and Blu’s virtuoso bass playing. Headlining the evening was Flight Facilities, the Australian electronic music production duo comprised of Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell.

As the sun set over the venue on the steamy summer evening, the crowd was treated to Blu’s captivating stage presence and her innate ability to connect with the audience. Known for her skillful instrumentation, Blu seamlessly integrated her bass playing into her DJ set, allowing for a fun, danceable experience which had the crowd erupting in raucous cheers. Her setlist was a perfect balance of her trademark jazzy-pop-funk sound mixed with percussive electronic grooves. On the setlist was her newest release, as well as “Expensive Money” and “Vintage,” the latter of which was released by the headlining act as a remix back in 2021.

Be sure to catch Blu DeTiger as she performs at the We Belong Here Festival in New York City this October.
