I have lived in Atlanta for over 20 years and had never attended a show at Terminal West until this past Monday night. I couldn’t have imagined that not only would I be adding another venue to my list, but that my first time there would be such an amazing experience. The artist who made this possible was the incredibly talented Samia. From the moment I walked in, you could tell this was going to be special. The room was spacious enough to let the music breathe, yet intimate enough to make it feel like Samia was singing directly to you.

Then came the moment everyone was waiting for. The lights went dark, and the crowd let loose a roar that I felt from head to toe. To say it was electric would be an understatement—and the first note hadn’t even been played. Her incredibly talented band crossed the stage in the shadows, and as the lights began to rise, Samia appeared with a smile, ready to deliver a performance that would leave us all speechless.

What stands out most about Samia live isn’t just her vocal range or her band’s ability to move seamlessly between soft confessions and soaring choruses. It’s the quality of her voice—the way it makes you stop in your tracks. She can pull you in with her soothing, melodic calm and then command your full attention when she unleashes her powerful sound. The night was a perfectly blended cocktail of older favorites like “Big Wheel,” “Pool,” and “Triptych,” carefully mixed with standout tracks from her new album Bloodless, including “Bovine Excision,” “Carousel,” “Lizard,” and “Hole in a Frame.” Samia dazzled, danced, and captivated the audience from start to finish. She pulled you close, then shook you until you screamed with excitement.

Like I said at the beginning, I hadn’t been to Terminal West until this past Monday — but whoever I’m lucky enough to see there next has some big shoes to fill. Samia didn’t just perform; she captivated us and gave us all an unforgettable night we’ll carry with us forever.
