Alison Wonderland launched the Ghost World Tour with an epic return to San Diego, taking over the main stage at SOMA San Diego for the tour’s opening night on February 27. The evening was packed early with Wonderfans ready to be taken to a spiritual level.
For more than a decade, the Australian producer and vocalist has steadily carved out her place in the electronic music world by doing things her own way. Known for blending trap-driven production with her own live vocals, Alison Wonderland has built a career defined by experimentation and intentional artistic evolution. From opening sets on the cello to collaborating with artists across multiple genres, her approach to music has consistently pushed beyond the boundaries of traditional EDM.

Her latest album, Ghost World, reflects that creative ethos. The 14-track project showcases one of her most diverse bodies of work to date, featuring collaborations with Ninajirachi, MEMBA, QUIX, Erick the Architect, and DJ_Dave. Each track explores a different sonic landscape, reinforcing Wonderland’s vision of creating a musical universe outside of conventional industry molds.

The San Diego show marked the tour’s first stop and came only months after Alison Wonderland last appeared in the city as a surprise headliner for a massive beachside event at FIT Social. This time, the setting was more intimate but no less energetic, as SOMA filled with fans eager to experience the new era live.

Opening the night was rising bass music producer Wink, who delivered a set that quickly locked the crowd in. From the moment he stepped behind the decks, he leaned into a heavy blend of trap and bass music, sharp percussion, distorted drops, and quick transitions that kept the crowd moving. His set balanced festival-ready intensity with moments of groove, giving fans a taste of the darker, heavier side of electronic music that is slowly rising back into popularity. By the end of his performance, the room was already in full fest mode with a totally packed house of dancing ravers and Kandi bracelet exchanges happening throughout.

Once behind the decks, she immediately brought the room to life, opening with the title track from Ghost World. Throughout the set, Wonderland moved seamlessly between the album’s shifting tempos and moods. High-energy tracks such as “Get Started” and “PSYCHO” drove the crowd into a frenzy, while songs like “iwannaliveinadream” and “Everything Comes in Waves” offered more atmospheric moments that balanced the pace of the performance.

The set also featured several fan-favorite releases from earlier in her catalog. Tracks like “Good Enough,” “I Want U,” and “Church” sparked waves of nostalgia among longtime listeners, while her collaboration “Lost My Mind” with Dillon Francis remained a standout moment of the night. Alison showcased the range that has defined her career, moving fluidly through trap, techno, and drum and bass. The result was one of her most dynamic live sets to date, highlighting both her technical skill behind the decks and her connection to the fans by guiding emotional flow of the show.
