Rezz Brought the Heat to a Frozen Houston Night

Saturday night during a freeze watch surrounding the Houston area, EDM fans still gathered at the iconic 713 Music Hall for a kick ass night of techno bass, heavy beats, and lets be honest tripsss. The cold outside did not matter at all. Attendees showed up in fishnets, bikinis, and cheeky shorts like it was the middle of summer, while the men were very clearly enjoying every second of it. Even without a complete sell out, the venue was packed wall to wall and already buzzing with energy. It was clear from the moment doors opened that everyone was fully locked in and ready for whatever the night had in store.

In celebration of her release‘s The Pendulum Swings, Rezz hit the road with supporting acts BRVMES, Lumasi, and Blanke, each bringing their own unique sound and style to the lineup. Together, they built the night into one cohesive and explosive experience.

After dealing with travel delays and a hectic flight from Canada that left almost no time between arrival and hitting the stage, Rezz finally appeared and the room instantly erupted. Any stress or delay disappeared the second the bass dropped. The energy was literally unreal… The sound felt like it traveled straight through your body, so intense that it lingered long after the show ended. I could still feel the beats echoing as I laid down that night. That is how powerful it was, yall.

I have not been to many EDM shows, this being only my second, but I was absolutely not prepared for this level of insanity in the best possible way. From the crushing sound design to the massive LED visuals taking over the stage, to lasers cutting through the crowd in every direction, the entire experience was overwhelming in the most satisfying sense. Beyond how sick the music was, what stood out most was the artistry behind it all. This show was not just a performance, it was art. Rezz is a true genius at her craft, and the entire time I found myself thinking about how she deserves even more recognition. She is a full force and a complete vibe.

Rezz delivered a powerful mix of her catalog, including tracks like “Puzzle Box,” “CAN YOU SEE ME,” and “Black Ice,” along with a crowd erupting cover of “Killing in the Name” that sent the room into absolute chaos. Every song came with its own evolving visual world, seamlessly synced and endlessly captivating. Standing tall on her elevated platform with her signature LED glasses glowing, Rezz commanded the room from start to finish. You would never guess the obstacles she had to overcome just to get there. She made it happen effortlessly and gave Houston one of the most memorable nights to kick off the year.
