Maynard James Keenan brought his Sessanta Birthday celebration show to Charlotte, NC with a few famous faces. His birthday was a party performed by two of his bands, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer, along with his close friends, Primus. All three bands played a rotating setlist of 3-4 songs before moving to the next band throughout the evening, bringing fans on a 30-song adventure.

As with every Maynard related show, cell phone pictures were a hot topic. Signs were posted and announcements made throughout the venue to put your phone away and focus on the present. A sentiment Maynard is famous for, fans only encouraged to bring out their phones to capture the moment during the last song. A Perfect Circle started the evening with “Counting Bodies Like Sheep to the Rhythm of the War Drums.” Primus took the stage next while Maynard took a seat on couches placed on stage to enjoy his birthday festivities. Puscifer ended the first set with “Indigo Children,” then Primus returned to the stage for Act II in this theater inspired set compilation.

A ten-minute intermission took place prior to all three bands’ Final Act. Here, cell phones were allowed for the last song “Grand Canyon” by Puscifer. A perfect song to encapsulate the memories of Maynard’s Birthday Bash. Sessanta V2.0 moves onto the east coast and then through the Midwest into early June prior to ending in Washington state.
