Saint Charles, IA — A small town with a population of approximately 640 people, yet still home to Iowa’s largest music festivals. The Avenue of the Saints Amphitheatre, located approximately 30 miles south of Des Moines, will play host to this three-day festival from Friday, August 1st – Sunday, August 3rd, 2025. This annual festival began in 2015. Now celebrating its tenth year (excluding 2020 due to COVID), the variety of musical genres, across multiple stages throughout the festival grounds, continues to captivate attendees.
Friday’s lineup includes American rapper Tyler The Creator as the day’s headliner, Clairo, Remi Wolf, pop duo Royel Otis, Rebecca Black, newly formed rock duo Good Neighbours, Turkish singer/songwriter INJI, and rock band Scowl.
Saturday’s headliner features the widely popular country artist Kacey Musgraves. The lineup continues with pop band The Marías, Still Woozy, Role Model, Glass Beams, Gigi Perez, new country artist Willow Avalon, and folk duo hey, nothing. I’m most eager to listen to and photograph Glass Beams during this day’s lineup. Their mysterious appearance and mixture of instrumental and electronic music would not only make for some unique photos, but pleasant to listen to in the process.
Hinterland’s final day is one you definitely do not want to miss! Sunday’s headliner is none other than the multi Grammy award nominated artist, Lana Del Rey! The supporting lineup for the final day of the festival includes Bleachers, Sierra Ferrell, Wyatt Flores, whose debut album was released just last year, Michael Marcagi, Evan Honer, Irish singer-songwriter and musician Orla Gartland, hip-hop artist Sam Austins, and American comedy disco duo Koo Koo, scheduled to perform on the Hinterkids stage.
Complete with camping facilities, family-friendly activities, craft vendors, and of course festival and artists’ merchandise, Hinterland will be home for thousands of people to gather in the rural countryside of Saint Charles, Iowa from August 1st-3rd, 2025.
